St. Stephen’s Hospital, Glanmire
Matt O’Mahony & Associates have been involved in a significant extent of refurbishment and upgrade works on many of the buildings on the campus of this extensive HSE facility. A sample of the works carried out in recent years is detailed below.
Unit 9 – Provision of mechanical, electrical and transportation services installation on the Second Floor of Unit 9. The project involved the carrying out of works associated with the conversion of the area from use as a residential care facility to use as an office facility for the ACTS (Child & Family Unit Service). This included installation of a complete new disabled access compliant passenger lift installation – incorporated within the existing stairwell.
A previous project involved the upgrade of the domestic water services to the campus catering facility in this unit. Fire alarm and Emergency Lighting upgrade works were also undertaken throughout this unit.
Unit 3 – Provision of mechanical and electrical services upgrade works on Unit 3, Residential Care Unit. The project involved the carrying out of fire safety works including upgrade of the existing installations and provision of new fire alarm and emergency lighting installations as well as upgrading the washing facilites in this acute mental health care unit.
Works are ongoing in Units 2, 5 and 8 and we have undertaken Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting upgrade works in the Valley View Day Centre and in the Records Store onsite.
These works were carried out in the live campus environment at St. Stephens Hospital – being mindful at all times of the patron groups present on campus.
