Quality Management

Matt O’Mahony & Associates operates a Quality Management System that is certified to I.S.O. 9001

Our certification to this quality management standard was initially achieved in 1997. We have maintained it continuously through regular audits by an independent certification body ever since.

Quality management procedures – compliant with ISO 9001:2015 – are applied to all design work, tender assessment work and site inspection work undertaken by this office. This includes – where required by the standard – a third party assessment by a senior staff member of work produced by each employee within the office.

Technical Facilities

We utilise a comprehensive range of drafting and simulation software in our mechanical and electrical design work in order to produce high quality design output.

Much of our design work is produced utilising Autodesk Building Design Systems – a package specifically for the use of Building Services Consultancies. This software has complete 3-D capability and is fully integrated with AutoCAD (also produced by Autodesk). We also use a range of other M & E software packages for each element of the services design.

We have an extensive technical library (built up through more than 30 years of operation) which is regularly updated. We also have access to various online Technical Services (Barbour Index, Construction Information Services etc.) and make extensive use of these.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Matt O’Mahony & Associates are accredited under the Engineers Ireland CPD Programme. Our company’s CPD Programme is in place to stimulate lifelong learning amongst our employees in line with best international practice. More specific aims include:

Individual – that each individual employee will keep his/her CPD up to date so that his/her value as an employee is retained in a rapidly changing marketplace.

Organisational – that we will facilitate the professional development of our employees by providing a support mechanism to address needs in a systematic fashion in accordance with business goals.

CPD is ultimately the individual’s personal responsibility, it’s widespread and effective practice requires the co-operation, encouragement and support of employers, academic institutions, Government agencies, Engineers Ireland and other relevant bodies. Matt O’Mahony & Associates see the implementation of the programme as an important staff development tool which will expand the knowledge base from which the firm can draw to service the needs / requirements of its customers / clients.
